Tyga is set to star in the coming-of-age musical Baby, You’re a Star (which he also co-wrote), alongside Ashton Sanders, Outer Banks‘s Madison Bailey, One of Them Days’ Patrick Cage and more.

Baby, You’re A Star is currently in production in Portland, Oregon, as Deadline reports.

Co-written by Tyga and Curtis Bryant, Baby, You’re A Star is set in 1989 and, if the title is anything to go by, might have a heavy Prince vibe. According to the synopsis, the film follows “an ambitious young artist determined to break free from the limitations of his environment, as he navigates love, identity and the pursuit of artistic expression.”

Sanders and Bailey are the leads, and, to go with the Prince vibe, Prince protege Apollonia is also listed as part of the cast.

Who else is starring in the film?

Cage, David Alan Grier, Clifton Powell and Mike Epps also star. Arrad Rahgoshay, known for his work on several music videos, is set to make his feature-length directing debut.

Tyga will produce along with Brian Sher and Eric Tomosunas.
